Team Introduction
The Delhi Team is one of the franchise cricket teams of the Indian Twenty20 Premier League. The team had qualified first time for their first final in 2020 after twelve years of the tournament’s inception. In 2019, it also qualified for the playoffs for the first time in 7 years and they followed it up being the runners-up in 2020 and yet another playoff finish in 2021. However, they did not make it to the playoffs the last two seasons.
After captain Shreyas Iyer had led the side to their first runners-up, finish in the 2020 season, he was replaced by young Rishabh Pant. For the 2023 season, however, Pant was sidelined with injury and David Warner took his place. Having made a completely recovery, Pant has returned to the squad for the 2024 season and will also captain the side.
