Venue: Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium

Delhi and Punjab will contest match no 64 of the Indian T20 league 2023. The match will be played at the picturesque Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala. Punjab, who are seventh in the points table, still stand a chance to make it to the playoffs. But Delhi have already been knocked out of the elimination race.

This will be the second meeting between Delhi and Punjab this season. Punjab won the reverse fixture between the two three days ago. Batting first, the Shikhar Dhawan led side scored a total of 167 for 7 in their 20 overs on the back of a century by Prabhsimran Singh alone. In reply, Delhi were able to muster only 136 runs, and nearly half of those runs were scored by David Warner alone. For Punjab, Harpreet Brar picked up four wickets while Nathan Ellis and Rahul Chahar also contributed with two wickets each.

Chennai, Gujarat and Lucknow are certain to play the playoffs. But who between Mumbai and Bangalore goes ahead is yet to be known. Punjab’s chances also depend on the result of the remaining league games of other teams.
