Since coming up from the Pune Academy, Amrinder Singh has never had a barren season with ISL clubs taking him on loan and permanent basis year after year. Amrinder Singh’s most successful stint came with one-time ISL champions Mumbai City FC, playing for whom the goalkeeper pulled off the most number of saves for two consecutive seasons. Having played just 117 matches so far, Singh has managed to lift one Indian Super League trophy and made the most number of saves in the league.

Starting his career at ONGC FC, TP Rehenesh had to play for numerous I-League and other lower league clubs like Shilong Lajong FC, Mumbai FC and Rangdajied, before joining NorthEast United FC on a loan transfer in 2014 – ISL’s first season. However, unlike Amrinder Singh, Rehenesh’s ISL career took some to fire and he had to come back to then I-League side East Bengal in the break. His second stint in ISL started when he moved to Kerala Blasters FC in 2019 on a free transfer. The Indian goalkeeper has since joined Jamshedpur FC with the ISL 2012-22 season being one of his most successful ones.

India’s first-choice goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu is ahead of Amrinder Singh because of his European football experience. Having played the UEFA Europa League with Norwegian club Stabaek, Sandhu excels in goalkeeping aspects like ball distribution, assembling his backline, and is the right leader at the back for any team. Sandhu had also played for East Bengal before Bengaluru FC roped him in permanently in 2017. Since then he has played 92 games and made 249 saves.

ISL’s best goalkeeper last season and the winner of the Golden Glove award, Prabhshukan Gill was the star of the show by having the most number of clean sheets in the league. Kerala Blasters FC went all the way to the final owing to his brilliant performances game after game. Gill averaged 2.35 saves per game.

Mirshad Michu’s name is less talked about despite the goalkeeper having a brilliant season because NorthEast United FC finished 11th in the ISL points table.
